Emmeline Pankhurst was a british political activist. Leader of the suffragette movement, she is now widely recognized for her important role in achieving women’s suffrage. Although her methods remain critisized, her work is recognized as a crucial part of women's suffrage in Britain achievement. She also founded the Women's Social and Political Union (WSPU) which was a militant organization for women's rights. The badge a choosed to design is based on a replica of some WSPU's badges.
