WW2 Concrete Air Raid Bomb Shelter

WW2 Concrete Air Raid Bomb Shelter

thingiverse

This model is based on a typical WW2 British public air raid shelter commonly found in urban areas. Reference photos show them constructed in the middle of streets. Frequently they were made of double thickness brick, but many were also made completely of reinforced concrete. The roof slab was usually flush with the sides, but I added a slight overhang as I think it looks a little better. The small door at the rear was an emergency escape if rubble or fire blocked the main door. The model is sized for for 1:76 OO scale. The "large" size is 8' x 16'. The "small size is 8' x 12' 9". Created in Tinkercad.
