This is a memorial monument to the falled in the First World War. Depicting a soldier on one side, it has several inscriptions on the other. At the top and bottom, French and Dutch versions of: "To the brave heroes who have fallen for the defense of homes and the honor of the Belgian people." In the middle section, the inscription shows the numbers of soldiers involved, while a later added part on the bottom remembers WWII warriors as well.
