**X-110 - Modular Micro Brushless Quadcopter Frame** **Preliminary Upload: 08/05/2019** **Specs:** - True X 110 mm motor to motor. - Fully Modular. - "Pop & Drop" solder-less frame swapping. - 16 x 16 and 20 x 20 mm M2 & M3 stack friendly. - M1.6 x 8.5 mm (BetaFpv 75x 1103) and M2 x 9 mm (11xx standard) options. - 19 x 19 camera clearance. - Unique component mounting options. - Latest Active Geometry Formula Applied. - Light. - Durable. - Minimal supports/No support printing. **You will need:** M2 Nylon Hardware M3 NylonHardware & Standoffs **X-110 Recipe:** 4 x Arm Pieces (Please choose according to your motor's mounting specifications. Sizes are M1.6 x 8.5 mm and M2 x 9 mm) 1 x Top Plate 1 x Bottom Plate 1 x Camera Mount 1 x Camera Locker **To build:** **Frame** - Fits together, put bottom plate on bottom and secure with use of standoffs. Use standoffs of your length choice to accommodate the height of your components. **Motors** - Select the appropriate motor mounting specification before you print. ENSURE TO USE MORE THAN 2 BOLTS! **Bottom Plate & Stack** - Bottom Plate Takes 16 x 16 in M2 and 20 x 20 in M2 & M3. **Top Plate** - Secure the the Top Plate to the arms with the use of M3 standoffs and hardware. You will notice that there is a small rectangular area underneath with a slot on either side. This space is to allow you to mount components (of various size) for example an RX or VTX. The idea is to utilize a single zip-tie/cable tie to secure both components, one on either side. There is generous space to fit basically any component that you should want and you can use the slots on the sides of the top plate to direct your antennae. **Camera Locker & Mount** - Secure Camera Mount to Top Plate with use of M2 hardware. Internal clearance 19 x 19 mm so most micro camera and AIO units should fit with ease. There are camera mounts with apertures 10 - 13 mm, select to fit your camera. **Building In Reverse?** - The frame can be built to be a "pusher" with the arms on the top. Just build as normal and turn upside down. I will be working on a modification to allow for full camera tilt with this configuration if there is demand. **Clearances & Tolerances:** All holes have been left exact, adjust scaling on your printer. Only the arms have clearance @ 0.2 mm to provide a comfortable fit. **Printing Guide:** The frame should be printable in all common filament materials such as PLA, PETG, ABS & NYLON. 100% infill is recommended, but feel free to experiment. The only piece that needs to be printed with supports are the arms for the frame. Everything else can be printed without supports. A picture will be provided, but each piece has an obvious flat surface which should lay against the bed. It is advised to treat a printed frame like that of a Tiny Whoop and to avoid landing on the motor bottoms or corners of the arms. When you first get it into the air, treat it gently until you get used to it. Since there frames are designed to balance perfectly and are actually “true X” this may feel a little strange at first. You may note that your sticks will be more even across all the axis of movement. It is recommended to bottom mount the battery for the longevity of the frame and arms. Of course, once you are proficient and comfortable flying with the frame mount as you wish. Plastic frames will protect your components very well, particularly from current and voltage spikes that normally kill components during crashes. Secondarily the frame breaking during an impact absorbs a great deal energy which would otherwise damage your components. The frames are designed to fully enclose the key components as much as possible of the drone so you should hopefully enjoy parts that last for a long time. ALWAYS CHECK FLYING REGULATIONS AND RESTRICTIONS LOCAL TO YOU BEFORE ATTEMPTING TO FLY YOUR CRAFT. **Originality of Design:** Of key importance to me is that my designs are original works. I always make my designs from scratch and try and make them as distinct as possible. I have taken great care make sure that my design does not take directly from anyone else’s work or infringes on any copyrights or patents. The unique geometry of this design alongside its unique design features identifies it as an original design and also builds in copy protection.
