X axis hook (GeeTech i3 proC)
thingiverse
A hook is needed to hold up the x axis assembly of a GeeTech i3 pro C printer. Use one pair. An additional benefit of an anti z-wobble part is that it enables you to pull up the entire x axis assembly. This allows me to clean the nozzle, change filaments, or simply wipe down the build plate. Center the x axis. Hold both hands firmly in place. Grab the left and right sides of the top x axis rod with the round hooks from behind, then pull it upwards and hook the square parts over the acrylic frame, located to the left and right of the display. This method may work for other printers with a similar layout, but it's unlikely to be as effective when distances and sizes aren't exactly the same. There are now two styles: one that attaches to the front of the frame, and one that hooks over the back of the frame. The latter is a bit more cumbersome, but it still works even if you have an x axis cable chain installed. #### Warning This requires an anti z-wobble part. Without it, when pulling on the rods, you'll lift the entire printer. #### Caution 2 Remember to lower the assembly before starting a print. This reminder is necessary because people may forget to do so. I'm confident that this hasn't happened to me at least a dozen times.
