X-Rite ColorChecker Passport 2 Holder

This is a holder for the X-Rite ColorChecker Passport 2. I used a Hillman ¼” Threaded Hammer-In Insert Nut # 881675 to allow the holder to be attached to a light stand or tripod. I have included to versions of the holder, one with a large hole for the insert nut specified above. The other version has a simple pilot hole if you want to drill your own hole for the insert of your choice. If you do drill your own hole, I do recommend increasing the infill to 100 percent for several layers to properly support your insert. To install the Hillman Insert Nut, I installed a long ¼”-20 bolt in the bottom of the insert and heated the insert to around 400 degrees F. Wearing leather gloves, I pressed the insert into the bottom of the holder until flush. I turned the holder upside down so the insert was on top and used a fan to help cool it down quickly.
