It was considered a symbol of fertility, but ironically, in spite of itâs abundant summer blooming (May to September), only 10% of itâs flowers grow to become actual fruits. Today, China is the largest producer of Cantaloupe, with the 51% of the total world production. Once brought home, a melon must not be stored at temperatures lower than 5°C.
