It is often present mixed in the Jarrah and Karri forests of Western Australia. The name Marri comes from native Australian Nyoongar language where it means “blood”, referring to the reddish gum that the bark often essudates. It is a rustic species that can grow in many different conditions. Being a large tree, Marri is not really common in urban decoration, except for parklands.
