I got fed up with constantly snapping battery straps in crashes while racing my R5LX and R5X. So, I took matters into my own hands and designed a plate that deflects the angle away from the plates. As a result, the battery strap is now pulling against a flat surface instead of being strained at an awkward angle. After testing both TPU and PLA, I discovered that printing them in TPU resulted in excessive flexing when tightening the battery strap. In contrast, PLA held up perfectly, so I've opted to print all my plates with this material. Both PLA and TPU versions weigh a mere 3g once complete.
