Xiaomi Mi Robot Collision Sensor Upgrade
thingiverse
Hello. I acquired a Xiaomi Mi Robot vacuum cleaner robot (works well). There were two issues in my household with the robot; I have a small step in my living room that leads to my patio. Unfortunately, this step is not high enough for the collision sensor to detect it and the Xiaomi tries to climb up there. However, he cannot accomplish this because the step is too high again. As a result, he struggles hard at this point. A second problem was presented in my kitchen, the rocking chairs, which were just as tall as my step in the living room. In order not to have to change the step and the chairs and since the household does not feature a particularly high carpet or runner, I thought to place the Xiaomi slightly lower. Therefore, my design involves attaching it to the front of the collision sensor (Bumper) with double-sided tape, extending it downward by approximately 1.6mm. This triggers the sensor now at my edges in the household and the Xiaomi now recognizes them reliably. A print bed of 300x300 is necessary; if that does not exist, you must print 2x the half Size Extension STL.
