Lets face it. The davinci 1.0 was crap. So I really wanted to fix it up. I also really wanted to try out a core xy before building a bigger one. I had to modify almost every part of the original. Some of the tolerances were a bit tight so I opened them up. I also kept the original board and end stops. The direct drive is for a generic titan style extruder. Bowden is also available. I changed out the steppers to some that I had laying around since the original ones had pressed on sprockets and didn't have a puller. Also the x and y are different sizes so didn't want to even waste time with them. If you do use different steppers and they just sit and stutter swap the middle 2 leads on one end. I had to make a shorter z end stop mount that was 8mm higher. On a plus side it now goes 206mm in z comfortably. I set my e steps for the x and y to 200 and it was perfect with those cheap sprockets that come with the belts. I set my acceleration to 700 and jerk to 16 I can now print at 80-90 for infill and support. 50-60 for perimeters without blinking an eye. It is a lot of work but totally worth it in the end. So much faster and the prints are much smoother. I will upload pictures once I get a chance. Edit... I updated the cooling fan and mount. I went with the direct drive. Parts are called (curved fan bottom) (e3d inner better cooling) (outer 30mm fan try2) So far so good. All were printed in abs.
