Y Belt holder + tightener

Y Belt holder + tightener

This is a replacement for Y belt holder on rebel2/rebelix printers, should probably fit other similar prusa-like machines. The point of making this is to be able to tighten the belt with a screw just right so the belt doesn't get damaged further and to hopefully keep the printer from making horrible sounds during fast Y-axis movements. Sliders are designed for GT2 belt, I might make different variants on request. Print Settings Printer Brand: RepRap Printer: Rebelix Rafts: No Supports: No Resolution: 0.5 nozzle Infill: 15% Post-Printing Clean blobs from everything Teeth on the sliders are thin, one end of them tends to get clogged with extra material at the point of beginning/ending extrusion - that needs to go. Clean it of with a file or a knife. Rail-part of the holder needs to be clean so the sliders can move inside(with some amount of force applied ) Modify the sliders Sliders have pre-made holes, drill one to a 4mm, use M3 thread tool on the other, the why should be clear from the pictures included. Fit the belt Try to put in one slider together with the belt, it should be possible with some force. If you can't, use a file or a sandpaper to remove some material from the top of the angled sides of the slider so the slider sits higher and there is slightly more space for the belt under it. Repeat until it fits. Then do the same thing for the other slider Tighten Insert both sliders with belt ends underneath them. Then use hot iron or glue to fix one of the sliders in place(doesn't matter which one) so it does not slide one way or another. Only one of the sliders should be free to move(with some force). Then insert the screw and tighten the belt as you see fit.
