April 2022: v1.1 tweaked with better tolerance (motor is further away, mine was titled just slightly). and heat inserts for the Y endstop part (also a version without heat inserts ) screw holes are wider. the top part may not print very well depending on your bridging quality, but doesn't matter much, won't hit anything and hidden anyway. No support technically needed. but for a cleaner inside you may want to do paint on support, not all over so that they are easy to remove. Print in PETG. high infill Only use the pulley temporarily if you need to, it's not meant as a permanent fixture. After about 20 hours of printing with it (while waiting for delivery of metal ones), it started slipping off, probably from the heat of the motor transferred to its shaft. If my design is useful for you, consider donating. Want to swap your Y motor for the more powerful Extruder motor (in case you changed you extruder and have its motor as a spare) without this your bed gantry will collide with the larger motor. the motor worked fine without skipping steps at normal speeds without touching the vref (which should be 0.99 - 1.01v by default) but otherwise you can push it to its extruder vref value which is 1.38 - 1.4v I then used my original 42-34 Y motor as my second Z for a dual Z setup. Saving you the cost of a motor. With this setup you will need the pully teeth part to start 4mm from the motor base (instead of sitting at the end of the motor shaft) The original end stop piece is still compatible with this, so nothing to change there. Secure the piece to the Aluminum extrusion before mounting the motor to avoid a clearance issue. I would recommend buying a new GT2 Pulley (20 teeth 5mm bore) rather than transfer the press fit one to save you some headache. But in the meantime you can use a printed one I designed, works exceptionally well at least short term from experience (printed using a 0.4mm nozzle). put the short side of the pulley first, as the thick part is more than 4mm. FYI: due to printing tolerance, the printed pulley may affect your Y calibration a tiny bit. I haven't noticed any yet, but it's something to keep in mind anyway Buy Me a Coffee at ko-fi.com buymeacoffee.com/squirrelf patreon.com/squirrelf3d
