This model was made by the Moors & Valleys branch of the Young Archaeologists’ Club, North Yorkshire. The YAC is a national club in the UK run by the Council for British Archaeology, and is for any young people aged 8-16 who are interested in heritage and archaeology. This month we learnt why photogrammetry can be useful for archaeologists, especially as it can record features quickly and easily. Then we tried it out, and these models are the test results. They show how well everyone picked it up. Now when we visit sites or spot archaeology out and about we can add to the record ourselves. Here is the successful processing stage showing the photo locations for members who wanted to see it:
