Yaesu FT-857 Portable Frame

<p>Hi!</p><p>This is my frame for bringing my FT-857D out portable. It's designed to attach to the radio via the 4x M4 screw holes for the mobile bracket, and provide a bit of protection for the radio.</p><p><strong>Main Features</strong><br>* Provides bump protection; this is significantly enhanced with the use of some foam matting (see photos).&nbsp;<br>* Provides protection for the rear cabling while in a rucksack- coax bends wont be squashed when setting the bag down on it's end.&nbsp;<br>* Allows reasonable airflow/cooling. Note this is designed with the Scottish climate in mind, so YMMV...<br>* Deflects the audio from the speaker towards the front- and out of the open top of the rucksack.&nbsp;<br>* Securely locates my N7DDC ATU100- see my other designs for this one.&nbsp;<br>* Provides required fix points for cable ties.&nbsp;<br>* Allows some room for expansion (i.e. for adding CAT/DATA interfaces) at a later date.&nbsp;<br>* Allows access to the V/M &amp; Lock buttons on the RHS, and 3.5mm headphone jack on the LHS.</p><p><br>STL files for slicing directly. F3D, OBJ, STEP also provided for tinkering.</p><p><strong>Fittings Required</strong><br>4x M4x8mm bolts and nuts (for joining the front and back sections of each side)<br>4x M4 bolts (for fixing the frame to the radio)<br>2x M4x12mm bolts and nuts (for fixing the rear bracket to the sides)</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p><strong>Print Notes</strong></p><p>This just fits on the build plate for the Prusa i3MK3S+ in the following groups:<br>1: LHS front and rear sections<br>2: RHS front and rear sections<br>3: ATU bracket &amp; Rear bracket</p><p>I used 0.3mm layer heights throughout. Infill was 20% grid for most parts, but for the ATU bracket i dropped this right down to 10%.</p><p>I used PETG for the final print for it's additional flexibility/durability. PLA for prototyping though (red/green parts in the photos are of my prototype prints).&nbsp;</p><p>&nbsp;</p>
