Yam Stool

The goal of this project is for the pictured sculpture of the Yam Stool to be fully reproduced, (consisting of 24 printed pieces making 8 full yams and clamp mounts- mounted to a stool as pictured). As part of planning an exhibition, I am seeking collaboration to fully realize and facilitate the sharing and complete reproduction of this sculpture. I hope for a response and exhibition collaborator! please contact me if able and interested at tylerhbt@gmail.com I am based in Baltimore MD While I have an ideal goal for this project, I encourage any full yam to be reproduced and attached to modify any structure. The clamp fits best around a 3/4" tube and is tightened with #6 screws Instructions This is Ideally printed on any plastic extrusion printer using any available color of plastic: PLA, ABS, or other plastic composite. The yams pictured are printed in various colors of PLA and are mounted to a solid steel stool built with 3/4" rod. There are 7 .stl files provided that are needed to make the ideal structure. Each yam is made from 3 pieces: a yam bottom, a yam top, and the clip backing. The files includes 1 yam bottom, and 3 matching tops each with a different angled clip. The variety of angled clips give a choice of orientation important if mounting multiples on a straight framework. There is a distorted yam bottom and a distorted yam top. All yam tops use the standard clip backings that print in strips of 5. Once printed, the two halves of a yam are connected with 3mm rods (welding rods or any 3mm stock) to form a yam. The clip backings are secured to the yam using #6 screws.
