YASH (Yet Another Spool Holder) for older version Spool Mounts
thingiverse
This is YASH, Yet Another Spool Holder, designed specifically for early generation spool holders on the Ender-3 printer. Attention: This modification is intended only for those who possess an early generation spool holder! There are many excellent spool holders available, but I had to create my own unique design. The Ender-3 comes with a low-diameter holder that causes excessive friction when rotating the spool. In my opinion, this friction forces the extruder motor to work harder than it needs to. Some designs employ ball bearings, which is a good solution, but I fear that due to an unforeseen circumstance, the spool could unroll itself and become tangled on some part of the printer. My goal was to create something easy to print while giving the spool sufficient friction without overburdening the extruder motor. Warning: Be aware! The YASH tube is designed to be printed in vase mode. Although it appears simple, not all slicers can slice this object correctly. Therefore, please pay close attention to the slicer settings listed below. The YASH Cap is printed in standard mode. Spools with a hole diameter larger than 51mm can be mounted on YASH. File "YASH_51_V1.0_Leo_N.stl" took 1 hour and 15 minutes to print. Enjoy! Leo Pushing the limit... https://youtu.be/bWnxUscbkYk
