Yet Another Threated Spool Adapter but customizable
thingiverse
I discovered an abundance of spool adapters but none that perfectly suited my requirements. Therefore, I decided to fire up OpenSCAD since I'm a fan of its functionality and designed my own model which closely resembles other threaded spool adapter designs that have been shared online. You can print this design without supports, and I highly recommend using either 0.12mm layer height for the threads or Cura's dynamic profile which utilizes adaptive layers to significantly reduce print time. Most of this model can be printed at a 0.2mm layer height. I embedded the Threads Library from Dan Kirshner into my design. [Update 1 (2020-05-31)] Since it's difficult to predict how well this adapter will fit your actual spool, I included a Simulation View feature. Simply enter the dimensions of your real spool and it will display an assembly with the spool for visual reference.
