Yoda is a fictional character from the Star Wars universe. He first appeared in The Empire Strikes Back in 1980. He is the Jedi master who teaches Luke how to use the Force. He is the wisest of all the Jedi Masters, and has trained many of them, culminating in becoming Grand Master of the Jedi Order. Along with Mace Windu, he is the most influential member of the Jedi Council. He is a paragon of wisdom, and his aphorisms are the epitome of light-side Force thinking.
