The abundance of hair copies that of the busts of Marcus Aurelius (161-180) at 17 years old. The person depicted in this bust is unknown but it is known that he is a follower of Marcus Aurelius and stoicism. He is wearing a 'contabulatio' toga (which gathers and folds across the shoulder) and a moustache, reminiscent of those of Elagabus (218-222); this portrait originates from the Severan era and affirms loyalty to the citizen's empire.   This object is part of "Scan The World".
