Hey there. I came up with this thing to quickly checking the level-ness of my print bed. I actually leave it on the x-axis gantry to check the height before each print. To check the whole bed, I: lower the hot end to 10mm from plate, snap on the indicator to check front left and right corner (the spring holder tab serves as a lever for release the clamping pressure) move the bed forward check the back left and right corner. If I leave it on the machine (right side of x-axis) I lose about 30mm in print width when i do that, but it only take 2 seconds to remove it, so it's not a big deal. The depth gage is pretty inexpensive from ebay, and is instant-glued to the print as shown. Hope y'all like it. p.s.: check your x-axis spacing. This was designed for 55mm ctc. p.p.s: Some people have asked me if I can put one together for them. The answer is basically yes, but I have a real job, so if you have patience and can wait for a few days, I will be glad to put one together for you. Send me a message.
