I designed this part because in this particular printer a flimsy 5mm threaded rod is used for the z-axis, and if it is not perfectly straight it can really get to flopping in the wind causing vibrations that can greatly affect your print. Which was the case with mine. I must say this was a huge improvement in the operation of the z-axis, much better than I expected. Although you can use any filament for this I chose to use petg because of its resistance to chemicals. I put a dab of white lithium grease in the rod hole as lubricant, if you decide to use this part you will see that the use of a bearing or bushing is out of the question because there simply isn't room for one. Installation of this part is fairly simple however the outer covers of the printer are somewhat tricky to remove. As far as being able to use this on the 1.0 this remains to be seen.
