supports are intended to return full z height clearance for certain direct drive mods and prevent rubbing on wires. so far ive had 0 issues with rigidity that i'm aware of print with 6 perimeters or more 40 percent infill or higher if you don't want to use a stabilizer on zrod simply print the extension without. the original screws go in the top of the extensions you will need shorter m5 screws for the bottom.
