Edit: added 2 versions with tighter radius to clamp tighter on the threaded rod, the original printed fine for me on 4 of my printers, but if you have slipping issues on the treaded rod, check those out and let me know in the comments if you need a tighter version. Azza's z braces http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:921948 are in the perfect spot for a front LED light, however there were no designs to add them. So I designed these, which clip on to 5/16 threaded rod. Use 3 for each side, and add LED strip covers: http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2064682. These re printed in PLA, they can turn somewhat with pressure to adjust but do not require any glue or zip ties or anything to attach. I used a single zip tie on the bottom to hold the LED strip wiring. My first design. See also my remix of LED strip holder to add LED strip to the gantry: http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2064648 Full build: Wire (This is what I had, 20 or 22ga are more than adequate): https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01CMHY892/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1 Sleeve:https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B004UHJCFI/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1 Connectors: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01AHJMR4A/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1 24v to 12v converter: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01M24M2PR/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1 12v LED strip: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00HSF65MC/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1 Also needed: Heat shrink, soldering iron, 2 zip ties, adhesive pad to attach converter to machine You need to have some comfort with soldering as the LED strips are all custom lengths. Printable parts:http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2064836 qty 6- PLA is fine, whatever color you want, these are orange in the picture, you want an opaque colorhttp://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2064648, 3 pairs of the 100mm, 1 pair of 50mm, 1 pair of 75mm, PLA is fine, you want an opaque colorhttp://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2064682, 10 x100mm, 2x50mm, 2x80mm and 1x horizontal- this is a special size. I printed these out of clear PETG as I had issues with the strength of the $8 el cheap natural PLA The voltage converter fits in front of the power supply at the front of the machine, once it's stuck down you can figure out your wire lengths. I joined the wires for the gantry and right Z brace light to one wire and left to a second, using quick connects and sleeving for everything to keep things neat. All connections must be hot soldered and shrink tubed. To assemble the printed pieces: Gantry sides: 2x100mm led holder and 1x50mm led holder. Gantry horizontal: 2x100mm, 1x75mm led holder. LED strip from right side all the way across and down to left, making sure that you get the strip all the way into the corner and make a sharp angle or the covers won't fit. Then attach the LED covers, 2x100mm and 1x80mm on the vertical sides, 2x100mm and 1x horizontal for the horizontal side, it should be a tight fit. Z braces: 3x100mm LED clip for each side, 2x100mm and 1x50mm led cover for each side, with a zip tie on the bottom of each to help prevent wire tug. Print Settings Printer: MP Select Plus Rafts: No Supports: No Resolution: .2 Infill: 60% Notes: 3 shells, 4 bottom layers, 4 top layers. Print flat to minimize z banding and wobble.
