I designed and built custom couplers from scratch, which made a significant difference in performance, but the 8mm shafts wouldn't fit properly and caused a slight wobble on the leadscrew. I've since optimized my design to create smaller couplers that are easy to assemble without over-tightening, preventing the shafts from spinning within the coupling. Currently under testing, these new couplers show promise in resolving issues with banding on my lithophanes, although it's still unclear if the problem was due to the custom PLA filament I'm using. I've had trouble with this specific brand of filament in the past.
