Z Stage LED Mounting Plate

Z Stage LED Mounting Plate

For some reason I didn't want to stick the LEDs onto my Z stage with sticky back. I wanted them to be easily removable for repair or replacement. So, rather than just stick them to some material that I attached to the z stage, I made this thing. There are dovetailed slots that you can slide the LEDs into and you don't have to use the adhesive at all (it would probably be trick to use it if you wanted to). There are slots on either side that go under the extruder mount bolts and one in the back if you want to add another nut and bolt. Instructions Print it. Test fit the LEDs. It's made to hold 6 at the back and 3 on either side. You may want to trim a little of the dovetails out near where the wires go to make them tuck in better (I did) It's a little tricky to solder the wires on when it's in there but you don't really have a choice (for 4 of the connections). The back bolt hole is probably unnecessary unless you want it to stay in place when you remove your extruder. You may want to make sure that the bolts still clear the build platform. There is plenty of room on my machine but I'm not sure if they are all the same...
