Z18 stool

thingiverse

Our FabClub is lucky enough to own one of the "Big Ones"... the MakerBot Replicator Z18. While brainstorming on projects we could do with such a huge build volume, the idea of creating our own furniture came quickly. Oceane Delain, designer in our studio, created a special stool, combining 3D printing and standard wood sticks. The seat uses the honeycomb pattern we are used to see as infill in most parts, but this time, no skin is hiding it. This strong structure enables an adult to sit (lets say about 140 pounds max) and the eight can be adjusted by cutting different lengths of wood sticks. Instructions Print seat top facing the build platform, with raft. No support needed.
