Z42 Prusa Mini/Mini+ Light Mount For LED Strips

<p>This version of the Z42 Prusa Mini light mount is an evolution of the original and is designed to hold a LED light strip. &nbsp;You can wire your own or you can purchase a sewing machine light kit (USB, no soldering involved), install it and you're set. &nbsp;See Links below.</p><p>I have included a PLA Gcode for the Mini it includes all printed parts and a 3mf, also, with all the parts.</p><p>I printed at .2 layer height, cubic infill and 2 perimeters.</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>To assemble:</p><p>Use CA (super) glue to attach the two light bar parts together.</p><p>Install your preferred LED light strip. &nbsp;Most strips have a strip of tape attached, use it but don't trust it, most will fail. &nbsp;I run a bead of CA glue down the edge of the tape to be sure.&nbsp;</p><p>If you are using a sewing machine kit you may need to shorten the LED strip by cutting it in one of the designated places.</p><p>Run your power wire through the groove on the inside of the mount.</p><p>Push two M4x12 screws through the holes in the mount and thread the first few threads of two 3030 T-nuts onto them.</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>Ensure the power wire is in its groove and slide the t-nuts into the z axis extrusion, ensure the power wire is not pinched between the mount and the printer and tighten up the M4 screws.</p><p>Once the screws are tight give the mount a loving tug to ensure the t-nuts aligned themselves properly. &nbsp;If the mount pulls away from the printer, loosen and retighten the offending t-nut.</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>Install the extrusion cover over the power wire, plug it in and your prints no longer need to be afraid of the dark.</p><p>Links to parts:</p><p>Sewing machine LED strip that I used: <a href="https://amzn.to/3xkzxmx">https://amzn.to/3xkzxmx</a></p><p>If you need to substitute a different sewing machine strip, be sure there is enough cable between the LED strip and the switch, some are very short.</p><p>T-Nuts: &nbsp;<a href="https://amzn.to/304OyZW">https://amzn.to/304OyZW</a></p><p>Metric Screw assortment: &nbsp;<a href="https://amzn.to/3mMrHfj">https://amzn.to/3mMrHfj</a></p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>&nbsp;</p>
