Zesty Nimble Filament Runout Sensor

Zesty Nimble Filament Runout Sensor

I created a filament runout sensor mount from IsaacMDesigns's original design and combined it with the bowden holder by visart3d so that it could be mounted to the Zesty Nimble drive cable. Do not cut the end of the filament at an angle as it will actually make it harder to load. Please read the versions notes below. I recommend using https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3496144 with this. Hardware ------------- • filament runout sensor (I took mine out of one from https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07F65TXGS) • 2mm ID PTFE tube Versions ----------- • The PTFE Passthrough is the the version I use. I wanted something that would always feed the filament out the other end and I found that carefully trimming a small piece of PTFE tube (as pictured) and sliding it into the mount worked 100% of the time when loading filament from my dry box. I made sure I left myself around 6mm on the inlet side for the filament guide tube to sit in. • The normal version is one I created afterwards based on what I learned from running the PTFE tube all the way through. It is untested and I'm providing it simply for those that are unable to trim the tubing like I did. If you print this version, please let me know how it works out.
