Loop a single rubber band through the pins, post and nock, similar to the Zheng3 Penny Ballista. Like the Duergar smiths who wrested its vertices from the earth, the Zheng3 Penny Bombard is nasty, brutish, and short. It's capable of showering an opponent at close range with three simultaneous projectiles, or punching through fortifications with a single epoxied slug. The bombard requires a slightly different rigging than its ballista and mortar ancestors. You need a lot of tension in a single rubber band to compensate for the extremely short stock. Using the bombard effectively as a scatter weapon takes some practice. In the beginning you can expect projectiles to go everywhere until you get the knack for it. When loaded with three pennies it's a great late-game desperation attack. Loaded with a single slug, a well-aimed shot can easily split a single layer bloxen wall.
