Zipper pull tab

Zipper pull tab

thingiverse

The zipper pull tab on my coat broke, so why not print a new one. I'm not sure this will last for very long, but we'll see. I created two parts - zipperb2 will feed through the hole in the slider, then it can be glued to part zippera to close it and complete the tab. This was a hair thick for my coat, but I did manage to feed it through after a slight rub with 180 grit sandpaper. 1/26/15 update: This is working so far for me, but the connection between the two pieces is a weak spot likely prone to breakage - with a good cyanoacrylate soak, it is holding, but I will likely redesign the two parts for an eventual replacement. 1/28/15 update: The printed replacement is still holding, but I've uploaded a redesign for trial the next time. Anyone who wants to try it, please give feedback. I've switched to a pin and socket design, so your printer will need to be able to handle very small overhangs, but there is room around the pins to handle a tiny bit of sag in the overhangs and also to allow application of cyanoacrylate to hold the two pieces together. The new design is zippertaba and zippertabb - the zipperassembled shows the completed assembly.
