This is a reproduction dome light is for a 1958 Edsel. More specifically, this one came from a 58 Edsel Pacer. It was printed in white to match the roof color, but you can choose any color.

I used ABS for the frame, but you may also consider PLA. If using PLA, be sure to change the light to LED and keep the car out of extreme temperatures to avoid warping (122F or above).

You may use a hot poker to create holes in the clear dome for the screws. I used new small self-drilling screws from my local hardware store. The size should be similar to the original screws, or roughly 3mm wide by 7mm deep. With self-drilling screws you can go a little wider and deeper without concern.

Print Settings

Printer Brand:

Creality

Printer:

Ender 5

Rafts:

Yes

Supports:

Yes

Resolution:

0.5mm

Infill:

20%/100%

Filament: Hatchbox ABS/Creality PLA ABS/PLA White/Clear

Notes:

Used ABS for the frame to ensure strength, clear PLA for the light cover.
Use 20% infill for the frame, 100% for the cover.
Print with the light cover sitting flat and use supports on the inside.

Use brim and supports from build plate only.

Time: 4h25m for frame, 4h34m for light cover

Category: Automotive
