Zoetrope

thingiverse

You can now use your 21st century printer to mimic 19th century motion picture technology!  Basically the first zoetrope was developed around 180 AD, but they didn't truly take off until the nineteenth century. A Zoetrope (wheel of life) is essentially a spinning wheel with a brief animation on the inside. Each frame has a slit that works as a shutter; as the wheel is spun, the illusion of the frames playing consecutively is created, bringing the animation to life.
