Zojirushi Thermos Replacement Latch

Zojirushi Thermos Replacement Latch

thingiverse

I'm pushing the limits of obscure parts now... This is a replacement latch for my Zojirushi Thermos (16oz). You can't see it from the picture because the break is on the other side, but the latch that holds the lid closed cracked along the hinge-pin hole. Unfortunately, I lost the little piece that broke, so I tried my hand at modeling a new one. It turned out pretty sweet, and it works, so that's always nice. I'm posting it here for the very small subset of humans out there who own a 3D printer, frequent Thingiverse, and own a Zojirushi Thermos with a broken latch. Enjoy! I'm sorry for the lack of pictures or instructions - I really didn't expect this to work first time and I don't want to take things back apart to photograph them. The basic idea is to separate the two halves of the lid (a little prying will get you there). Then push out the pin and install the new latch (DON'T FORGET THE SPRING). Finally, smoosh the two lid halves back together and Bob is your uncle. Print Settings Supports: Doesn't Matter Resolution: I used 0.1mm layers. Infill: Solid Notes: No support needed, although there is some bridging at the top. How I Designed This I whipped this up in Fusion 360 - my first foray into a real CAD program as I have previously designed all my other models with Sketchup. Anyway, Fusion 360 is really awesome once you get behind the design philosophy. Cheers!
