At it's root, it's simply a fish shape with the Greek word for fish written inside. However, for Christians this has added meaning because it represents perhaps the first creed (statement of faith) of the Christian church. Many of the apostles were fishermen, and ΙΧΘΥΣ stands for: Ἰησοῦς (Jesus) χριστός (Christ) Θεοῦ (God's) Ὑιός (Son) Σωτήρ (Savior) With the attached excel (or PDF) file, I've been printing twelve 2 1/8" x 3 7/16" cards 2-sided on 8 1/2 x 11 card stock telling about what it means. How I Designed This Designed in Geomagic Design Had to draw the characters individually because no font would have the letters connect to the basic fish shape.
