... as I can get it. ... It seems to print a little differently every time, so I can't vouch for other printers, but my Snapmaker seems to have the right balance of clamp grip-to-gap that keeps the clamps tight, but doesn't fuse completely during printing.

... an angle you get a perfect mating that should get rid of most extra at the welding side. Not my prettiest print but it is functional. I would print at 100% in something heat tolerant like ASA (which the prusa mini does handle amazingly) or PETG.
